I’m making a game using RPG Maker MV! It’s an open-world game, and the goal is to explore the entire world of IDequinosterriai and interact with characters.
I’m creating tilesets and maps for practice! I’ve finished the exterior of Serisel Village, and I’m currently working on Space of Harmony and the interior of Serisel Village.
If you take a look here, you'll easily understand the locations that appear in the game.
After that, I plan to set up the UI and, finally, create the character sprites. I’m hoping that by creating these elements first, I’ll be able to reuse them later when I start making a full-fledged story-driven game... And since this is practice, I’m just going to start with what I can do right now!
Pros: It offers a high degree of freedom (and is surprisingly satisfying)
Cons: There's a lot to draw (since it's an open world, there are over 200 characters to include...)
I actually made some character sprites like this a while back, but personally, I find drawing character pixels so tedious that I’m going to put that off until the very end. Who knows when it’ll be released!
